They amused themselves by deciding to buy these very popular fold up bikes which are amazingly easy to ride and transport and they are already using them to get around their holiday destinations in Southern China and Vietnam
As you can see we did have one day of good weather which we used to the full.
Nicky also came to see where we work and was impressed by the size of the campus and its engaging landscaping. Here she is with Mick admiring our new statue of a famous educationalist and teacher. This I might add was erected and carved and landscaped including the addition of the fully grown trees, steps and grass within one week. We have yet to discover the name of the sage but no doubt someone will know - so far no luck.
All too soon it was time for them to tackle the seething mass of people at the train station as they embarked on their overnight journey to Gulin where we have since heard they have had a great time rock climbing the beautiful karst mountains there and admiring more of China's beauty.
So despite the awful weather and short time line it provided another welcome break for us and it was so good to catch up with their exploits first hand.
Now we are looking forward to a visit from our son Craig at the end of the month ......and then it will be almost time to pack for our final travel and home!!
