We headed for the supermarket this morning and it was really just like Christmas. More crowded that usual and the aisles full of Moon Cake displays of every description and size. These are the traditional food for this festival. They are small cakes about 2 ins in diameter, either savoury or sweet (and we of course can't tell until we bite into one).
Monday is the Mid Autumn Festival public holiday for all except us teachers who have to go to school to welcome new students!!!!
However, not to worry we are full of the many gifts which have arrived this week in the form of Moon Cakes - not yet sure whether we have to eat them in the moonlight or what but will keep you posted.
