Would you believe it?

Having had his unlocked bike stolen on Tuesday from outside our front door, a somewhat chastened and disgruntled Mick rushed out, on Wednesday, to purchase another as it is the most economical and easy way to travel and he is lost without one.

Imagine his amazement when this morning, Saturday, one of the guards arrived at the door with his 'old' bike. We could not understand how he came to have it so phoned our office translator, Smile, and asked her to talk to the guard to get the story from him. After some minutes of chatting all was revealed: -

One of the guards, under orders it seems (policy I guess), seeing an unlocked bike in the complex, commandeered it and put it in safe keeping. The manager, this morning, decided that it was time to do something about this bike and asked every one around in an effort to determine who owned such a bike.

Why did he not ask the guy who removed it? and
Why take it in the first place from outside the front door - not even 2 foot away from the door - and next to a locked bike? and
Why did they not knock on the door and inform us that it was not locked and should be?

All such questions remain unanswered but Mick is now the proud owner of two new men's bikes and is busy growing extra legs and feet so that he can ride both bikes at once!!!
